The Deadly Kiss

He backed away but still held eye contact with her. He was weak with desire and he was ashamed. Still that look in her eyes, that knowing look but of course she couldn’t know, there was no way for her to know what he was. She reached for his face a caress and he turned his face slightly away. He couldn’t kiss her now. His mouth had changed with that first rush. It wasn’t lust, he’d satisfied that earlier, no this was something else. He wanted her and the desire was strong. Stronger than he’d ever experienced before.

“Brandon,” she whispered.

He took her hand from his cheek and pressed  her fingers against his lips.

“I love you,” she moved closer circling his waist with her arm.

He broke eye contact and looked down, “and I love you, Cerrie.” His voice barely above a whisper.

“Why do you pull away?”

Why  indeed? He pulled away so that he would not infect her with his disease. She had no idea of the danger he presented.

“Love me…love me Brandon.” She lay her head on his shoulder presenting  her white neck at his chin.

He moaned and pulled her tightly against him. “Please…don’t do …don’t.”

She kissed his neck.

His lips touched hers lightly

“I want it,” she said softly and began to suck his neck lightly.

He picked her up and took her to the sofa. “You don’t know what you’re asking.” He said but he was too far gone now.

“Yes I do,” she grabbed at the neck of her dress pulling it down exposing her breasts.

He feasted on them and then moved to her neck kissing her and raking it with his tongue. He took her, sinking the fine teeth into her vein. It was like nothing he’d ever had and the excitement flowed through him like a wave. As the wave subsided and he began to breathe again he felt the pain in his neck. He opened his eyes and looked into hers.

“We are bound forever, for eternity.” She said exposing the fine points of her incisors.

“I didn’t know.”

“You are mine, Brandon and I am yours.”

“Oh, my sweet. Eternity is here for we cannot love each other this way. “

“I don’t understand, this is what we wanted?”

“Yes, it is but I didn’t know you were already infected. I am sorry my love. We have just written each other’s death .”

“No, no we cannot die…we can’t.”

“I don’t fear it, do you?”

“Will you be with me?”

“Yes, always. What is death but another form of reality. We have lived and died and lived again. Now we shall experience the next level.” He caressed her face.

“How…how long do we have?” she asked.

“I don’t know.”

“I am so sorry,” she wept.

“You knew about me?”

“I thought…yes I did. I did know that you were like me. I didn’t know about…why is it so?”

 

“I was told once that it is to do with bacteria. Never bite another vampire. Simple as that. It may take a while.”

“I don’t mind it as long as we are together. It was wonderful for me. She licked the drop of blood from his neck where she’d bitten him.”

“It was for me too. The most wonderful feeling ever.” He positioned himself on the sofa with her in his arms. “You are the most desirable woman, the most beautiful I have ever known.” He kissed her lips and tasted his own blood.”I think it will come swiftly.”
