Anything is Possible With Travis
Travis turned Tee over to his Dad down at the horse barn and grabbed Jan’s hand leading her through some trees where he sat down and pulled her down with him. He knew Kyle followed him but at least the man had the sense to give him a bit of privacy.
"You’re happy today Travis," Jan said settling in his arms.
"I’m always happy when I’m with you," he smiled and kissed her softly.
"You have a wonderful place here Travis," Jan said, brushing hair out of her eyes.
Travis looked out over the rolling pasture land, "I know and I’m proud of it…I want you to be a part of it, Jan."
He felt her stiffen in his arms, "I’m not sure that’s possible, darling."
"Anything is possible, Jan…I’m living proof of that." He paused and then said, "I want to talk to you about my Mama. I know how she is…I know how she treats you…I’m not blind. I won’t put up with it and I’ve told her so. You see…when I was born, my sister, Linda, was ten years old, she’d been an only child all her life, and I was a change of life baby. My Mama transferred all her affection to me, I was loved to death, and coddled, spoiled - you name it. As I got older, I could see some of that and I felt sorry for my sister. Linda wouldn’t have anything to do with me I think she hated me for being alive…I took her Mama from her.
All through my growing up years and early twenties every time I brought a girl home she found something wrong with her and pretty soon I didn’t have a girlfriend anymore. It took a while for me to figure out what was going on. I quit bringing them home. That’s why you met my parents at the apartment instead of me taking you to their house."
"I wasn’t your girlfriend when we met," Jan said.
Travis smiled, "Yes you were, you just didn’t know it. Anyway, what I’m trying to say is she doesn’t want to let me go, there’s nobody in the world that would suit her so don’t let her get to you. She’ll come around…she will if she wants any part of me."
"Travis…I don’t want to stay anywhere where I feel uncomfortable, I don’t want to cause a problem for you and your mother. That’s why I haven’t been out here before…she doesn’t want me here, darling."
"What she wants as far as you and I are concerned is of no importance. You are important…you," he tipped her head up and kissed her. "I love you Jan…I’m not complete without you. If I can’t have you then I don’t want any of it do you understand…I’d walk away tomorrow."
Jan looked into his green-blue eyes, "You’ve got me, Travis…you should know that by now."
"I mean I want you with me here…this is where I want to live…we’ll figure it all out later Jan, but what’s important is that we be together. If it means moving Mom and Dad out of the house then that’s what I’ll do."
"I’d never want you to do that for me, Travis…don’t place that on me. Let me think about it. There are a lot of things I need to consider, my work is in Sydney."
"If you want to work, open an office in Coffs, nothing to say you can’t do that. Anything is possible Jan…anything."
