Collecting an Overdue Account

Toni had just finished interviewing the last of the three applicants for basically her job. She still intended to keep the books at home and to oversee the running of the clinic but her hands on approach would no longer be needed. It was afterhours and she walked around looking at the machines, picking up towels here and there and checking to make sure Tilly had cleaned the spa tub. She was going to miss it that was for sure but she understood why Travis wanted her away from it. He wanted her available to travel with him, play with him and there were things at the station that required her attention now that Sarah had moved down to their new house.

She went through cutting out the lights and heard a motor outside, it was Travis on his Harley. She had to smile when she saw his jeans, old worn faded and torn, where had he found those.

“You don’t look much like a prosperous cattleman today Travis, what have you been doing?”

“Hey, honey,” he gave her a kiss and ran his hand through his hair. “I’ve been working these are workingman clothes,” he grinned.

“I didn’t know you had such things, I bet they don’t make it to the wash.”

“I bet they better, are you through for the day?”

“Yes, I’ve got three good applicants to screen.”

“Good for you, I came to see if you wanted to go out to dinner tonight, we haven’t been to Andy’s for awhile.”

“I’d love to, you’ll have to go home and change of course.”

“Why? Okay we won’t go to Andy’s there’s plenty of places around here where my clothes would be accepted.”

“You smell like a barn,” she stepped up close to him.

“That’s where I’ve been most of the day, like that do ya?”

“Manly sweat, umm yes.” She grinned and slipped her arms around his waist.

“You’re gonna smell like a barn too if you keep that up.”

“You want me to quit?” She rubbed her pelvis against him.

“No…yes…Toni!”

Toni laughed, “Okay if you insist, get on your bike and go home, I’ll follow you.”

“Well…you started something here…”

“Take it to the house Travis McGee.”

Travis smacked her bottom, “You’re gonna pay for this.”

“Put it on my account,” Toni picked up her papers and her bag.

“Your account is overdue, I intend to collect late fees, you got all your shit?”

“Yep,” she grinned and followed him out of the clinic and locked the door.

Travis walked over to his bike where he had a bottle of water stashed and took a drink of it, Toni took it out of his hand and poured it over him.

“That ought to cool you down for the ride home,” she laughed.

Travis laughed too and grabbed her pulling her against his wet dirty self and kissed her deeply. “That ought to warm you up.”

“Oh wow, I’m not sure I can drive, me legs have gone all wobbly.” She teased him.

“God I love you girl.”

“Me too you.”

He held her against him for a minute and released her kissing her quickly again he got on his bike and gunned the motor doing a little fishtail getting out of the parking lot. Toni followed him in her car anticipating a long and loving shower when they got home.
