In Sydney

It was late afternoon when the private jet touched down in Sydney a car and driver were waiting on the tarmac along with Kyle who already had warned a group of paparazzi to get lost. However the flashes went off as pictures were taken of Travis and Toni as they walked to the waiting vehicle. Travis ignored them but it bothered Toni she wasn’t used to publicity and her one brush with it after the cruise on Travis’s boat still haunted her.

They drove to Travis’s penthouse apartment. Jan was no longer living there as part of the settlement with her Travis had bought her a new flat and he’d let Gracie go with Jan, he hadn’t found a new housekeeper.

“Do you really need a housekeeper Travis, you’re hardly ever here?” Toni asked as they rode the elevator up to his floor.

“Well Gracie wasn’t here except when I was, she had her own place, but yes I think we need to find somebody, I don’t expect you to scrub floors Toni.”

“Gracie stocked the pantry for you Travis; I gave her a call and let her know you were back in town.” Kyle said as they exited into the penthouse.”

“Maybe she can find me somebody,” Travis went about turning on lights.

Toni wandered around in the huge apartment, it was lovely she thought and the view was something else. Travis came up behind her and put his arms around her waist.

“I bought this place right after I came into that money, first thing I ever owned outright.”

“It’s beautiful Travis I could stare out these windows for days.”

“You’ll get that opportunity one day honey we’ll be back and forth. Sydney is a place I do business but my heart is at Glenridge.”

“That’s where I want to be…where your heart is.”

“You are my heart Toni,” Travis turned her and kissed her.

“What are we doing for dinner, want I should call it in or we goin’ out?” Kyle asked having stowed the luggage in the bedrooms.

“Call it in Kyle, try Fredo’s. Italian okay with you?”

“Sounds good, I’d like a shower.” Toni replied and Travis showed her where the bathroom was in the master suite she would be sharing with him while they were in Sydney.

Travis had an appointment to sign the final divorce agreement the next day. It would be a year before it was really finalized and he would be free. He’d also set up an appointment for Toni to talk to his solicitor about her own impending divorce.

Toni stood in the shower letting the jets ease the tension out of her body. Had it only been a little over a week ago she was married and living with Richie, shopping for groceries at Braddock’s. She closed her eyes and dipped her head under the water. That one moment when she’d looked into Travis’s eyes at the airport had changed her life forever. She’d given herself over to him and there was no going back. She’d opened herself to his love and he’d overwhelmed her with it, she had no idea he felt that way about her.

She thought about the day she left his guest house, the day she made up her mind that Richie was the love of her life. She hadn’t really explored her feelings for Travis he’d kept himself apart from her out of respect. Now she realized Richie wasn’t the one, he wasn’t there for her, not for the long haul. All the promises he’d made just like he did after the BBQ all went by the wayside after a while. He was more interested in his work and his social agenda at the Tavern than he was in her. That’s why she wanted to go to her mother’s to sort out her feelings about Richie.

It was different with Travis she knew where she stood with him and she loved him. She could pour out her heart to him and he listened, he cared, he acted. He was charming and he backed it up with his love for her unlike Richie who used his charm to get out of a bad situation. She could see the difference now and while a part of her would always love Richie, it was Travis who held her heart and she had no doubts that it would be well taken care of.

Toni rinsed the shampoo from her hair and heard the shower door open she opened one eye and smiled as Travis joined her.
