March entered his apartment in Coffs after a busy day at Andy’s, he glanced through his mail and found a letter from his mother he smiled and took the letter to the only comfortable chair in his apartment and opened it.

It was full of family news and new additions to the grandchildren roster. His father had been ill but was now back at work and feeling fine. March frowned his father should not be working with his heart but he was a stubborn man and would fall over in the vineyards some day. There was also a paragraph about Sophia who now had two children by her lover.

March lay the letter on a table, it was ridiculous, angrily he got up and went to his bedroom shedding his clothes he got in the shower letting the hot water do its work easing the tense muscles between his shoulders. How long had it been now ten years how long would it go on but he knew the answer, until her father died there was no hope.

He toweled himself dry and slipped on a pair of comfortable pajama bottoms. Pouring a glass of wine he took it to his balcony and leaned against the railing watching the ocean’s constant motion. He was alone but alone by choice he thought it better that way. After the disastrous relationship in Sydney he had resolved not to let himself get too involved again. No more tears and recriminations it wasn’t fair to anybody. Sipping his wine he wondered if he would ever have a life…free.

He thought about Libby and smiled, she was like a breath of fresh air. He was to go shopping with her on Saturday. Andy had warned him about Dan Evans but he wasn’t worried about another man right now he was just feeling his way with her not knowing where it was going but enjoying the ride. He would have to tell her at some point but for now there was no hurry.
