Pleasant Company

Miss Peeg had an idea, Andy was getting married on Sunday and wouldn’t it be nice of Michael Stanley would accompany her to church and afterward have a ride out to look at her cottage that was coming along nicely. She rang him up.

“Michael?”

“How nice to be thought of, I was of course doing the same which prompted this call, do you remember Andy and Lucy from Millie’s he has the restaurant now as you know, well they are getting married on Sunday and I thought it might be nice if you accompanied with me.”

“A marriage, ha ha, yes, sorry, this has come on the tails of something else, on Sunday you say?”

“Yes right after church service, would you mind terribly attending the service with me?”

“I’d love to Winnie, what time should I pick you up?”

“The service begins at eleven, I shall be ready at half past ten.”

“How about dinner afterwards?”

“I believe there is to be a buffet at the restaurant in honor of their wedding.”

“Sounds delightful.”

“Well I shall see you on Sunday then, good night.”

He was such pleasant company, she thought.
