She Might
“Hi Cara, it’s Kim I was just calling to see how you were and Kimberly of course.”
“I’m fine, we’re fine thank you for calling.”
“Wait…wait a minute Cara, don’t hang up. I know it’s been a while but I’ve been really busy with the store and haven’t had any free time until late at night.”
“What makes tonight different.”
“I rushed all evening to get done so I could call you. So how’ve you been?”
“Do you really want to know Kim…do you really want to know that I’ve been to the doctor twice this week with Kimberly, she has an ear infection and has been really grumpy all week.”
“I don’t blame her, is she better now?”
“She’s asleep I’m not sure if it’s the new meds or if she’s actually feeling a little better, she can’t tell me you know.”
“I hope she’s better. You’re ah probably a good mother Cara.”
“Probably.”
“Well there’s a barbeque on Saturday out here at Glenridge Station I thought maybe you and Kimberly might want to come, free food and drink.”
“I saw the add in the paper, I don’t live in The Glen.”
“But I do and I’d like your company.”
“What time does it start?”
“Around two, I’d pick you up of course.”
“Really, where are you going to put the car seat in that two seater you’ve got?”
“Car seat?”
“Yes for Kimberly she has a car seat that needs to be buckled in.”
“Oh, well we could take your car, if you want to meet me here.”
“I’ll think about it Kim.”
“I’d really like to see you Cara, think kindly of me.”
“That will take some doing Kim, but I’ll try, I’ll talk to you before Saturday, good night.”
Kim hung up the phone, she might…she just might.
