Travis Turmoil & Kyle
Kyle Corvin was now living in the guest house at Glenridge Station. One room was set up for surveillance of the gate along with other key sections of the fencing around the property. He had been sitting playing FreeCell on his computer when he noticed the monitor at the gate come on. It was Jan’s car moving pretty fast toward the gate he grimaced hoping she slowed to give it time enough to open. Whew! That was close. He puzzled over this for a moment and decided to find out where Travis was.
Travis was walking down the road toward the house his Dad was building. He had to get away to think. He went over all the emotions he was feeling, anger, hurt, fear. He loved Jan with his whole being and couldn’t understand how she had deceived him. Why she hadn’t trusted him enough to tell him, he didn’t give a shit what happened when she was 18 but the fact that there was something wrong inside of her and she was running around from one quack to another instead of telling him and letting him go with her and find the best out there…sure he wanted a baby but it wasn’t the be all and end all of his life.
Kyle saw him walking and hung back for a while, he felt like he should tell Travis he saw Jan leave in case he didn’t know she’d gone.
“Hey uh Travis,”
Travis stopped and turned, “Kyle?”
Kyle jogged up to him, “Yeah, I didn’t know if you knew Jan was out, she left about ten minutes ago.”
Travis stared at him a moment and ran back to the house for his cell phone. Kyle ran after him.
“Travis…do you need me to…”
“I needed you about ten fuckin’ minutes ago.” Travis slammed into the house.
“Shit!” he exclaimed throwing his cell phone across his desk, she wasn’t answering. He rested his face in his hands, where in hell would she go this time of night. He picked up his keys and went out the door.
Kyle was still standing in the yard wondering if he should go out and find Jan when Travis came out of the door in a run.
“Travis…wait up.”
Kyle caught the door handle of Travis’s vehicle and Travis rolled down the window.
“What the hell man?”
“Get out of my way,” Travis said and sped out of the drive.
