Tee at Breakfast
Sarah McGee sighed and lay down the paper on the table, "that poor Rev. Harris," she said.
"The fire," Bill said finishing up his coffee, "yeah those old places can be dangerous. I reckon the architect and contractor will be out to day to survey the old farm place shouldn’t be too long before they start on the house."
"I’m looking forward to it Bill…having our own house again…Tee are you sure you don’t want anything else for breakfast?" Sarah asked.
Tee was having his cereal, "No ma’am this is all I want." What he wanted was to read the paper his Gramma still had in front of her. All he knew was that there had been a fire at Rev. Harris’s house.
"I guess I’d better get to work," Bill said rising from his seat, "the boys will be here today to mow the alfalfa fields."
Sarah took her cup to the sideboard for a refill and Tee pulled the paper over where he could read about the fire. Suddenly he was no longer hungry for cereal. He looked up thinking about the puppy and pond with fish the Reverend had told him about. He thought about God’s house and how He didn’t stay in his house. He also remembered that Rev. Harris had told him he kept God with him.
"That’s a terrible thing about the fire Tee I hope Rev. Harris will be all right," Sarah said sitting back down.
"I think God must have stayed in His house that day," said Tee.
