Singing in the Shower

Driving home from Joi and Maximus’ home saw both Bridgid and Jack in good spirits. They really did have a great time at the party and spending the night proved to be a great idea. Even though Bridgid suffered a bit from her over indulgence, things were looking up. Fun aside; they were both happy to be going home.

Bridgid entered the front door of the cottage with Jack right behind her.

"Did I forget to lock the door?’ she asked as she turned to Jack.

"Wait here." he replied commandingly, putting an arm in front of her. His eyes dropped to the plate on the coffee table and it was hard to miss the fact that the television was on.

Bridgid stepped in and he turned to hold up a hand. "Wait." Jack ordered again. It was pretty much like talking to the wall. They both looked up at the ceiling, hearing water running in the upstairs loo.

Jack, being Jack moved to the fireplace mantel to grab his naval sword from the display. He crept up the stairs as quietly as he could and to his despair his Siren was glued to his heels. Arguing with her would have caused an alert to the suspected intruder so he just accepted the fact she was there and he had to protect her.

Once they reached the landing at the top of the stairs they could hear singing. Whoever this intruder was, he was taking a shower and impersonating a certain actor who had a band.

Bridgid recognized the voice. She tapped Jack on the shoulder and whispered "That’s my brother, damn it. He must have let himself in."

Jack grinned in that sly way he could on occasion and nudged his head toward the loo door. They both crept up and he opened the door slowly. Using the tip of his sword he pulled the shower curtain back and said "Good day, sir. Might I inquire as to what you are doing in here?"

Jason jumped back with a start. He quickly wiped the soap from his eyes as he backed up against the shower wall.

"Jesus Christ, Aubrey. Put that thing away before you hurt someone!" he shouted as he sucked in his gut to gain some distance from the point of the weapon.

"Morgan." Jack said calmly as he lowered the blade. "It is nice to see you again."

Jason would have grinned but he noticed his little sister looking over Jack’s shoulder.

"God damn it, Bridgid. Can’t a bloke have a bit of privacy?"

She giggled a little before winding her way around Jack. "Hey, we thought you were a burglar. By the way, aren’t you supposed to be my big brother." she teased with a wink. Adding insult to injury she snickered some more. "For a moment there, I thought I had a sister. Damn I always wanted to be an Auntie but its not looking good."

"Bridgid."

"Yes, Jack…"

"Enough."

"Okay, Okay. I know how you all feel about those things. I’m sorry, No more small penis jokes."

"BRIDGID."

"Yes Jack."

"Perhaps you could make a pot of tea. It would be hospitable."

"Tea, yes. I’ll go make a pot of tea. I heard that tea made with horny goat weed can enlarge that certain part of a man’s body."

She batted her lashes in an exaggerated way.

Jason stepped out of the shower and grabbed a towel to wrap around himself.

"Bloody hell, Bridgid. Are you five years old today or what?" He looked at Jack then he looked down at himself. "Can you please lay off the family jewels?’

"Who says I was talking about them, that?"

Jack cleared his throat and that was all she needed to hear. It was time to let it rest, for now. He waited until Bridgid walked away before he spoke again.

"Morgan, you may be my future brother in law but it would be proper of you to announce your arrival next time you decide to pay us a visit."

"Ah no worries, mate. It was a spur of the moment trip." he shrugged. "Wait a minute. Brother in law? Did I miss something?"

Jack would have answered him straight off but he was now between a rock and a hard place. Bridgid was not quite in the kitchen yet. She stopped in her tracks.

Poking head into the stairwell she called up" Did I miss something too, Jack Aubrey?  Like a proposal or something?"
