Beep Beep, Beep Beep, Yeah!

“Anyone in?” Ceri called as she opened the back door of Bron and Ed’s place.

“In the study, come through,” Bron replied.

Ceri and Max walked through the kitchen, stopping off at the fridge on the way for a cold drink before going through to the study. They found Bron and Ed studying something on the computer.

“Hi guys, won’t be a minute,”

“No rush, sis. We’ll just sit and have a drink. What ya doing?”

“I’m checking out a gallery in Sydney. They want to show some of my work down there, so I thought I’d see if I needed to go posh for the opening.”

“Well done, Bron,” Max said smiling. “Do you think you’ll need any company when you go down to the city?”

“You’re always welcome, it will be fun. As soon as I have all the dates I’ll let you know,” Bron replied walking round the desk towards them. She glanced out of the window and saw Ceri’s little red rollerskate. “Oh please, don’t tell me you drove down here, it’s only a few minutes walk!”

“She can’t get enough of the new car, Bron,” Max sighed. “I swear she loves it more than me.”

Bron gave him a hug and smiled, “I don’t think that could be possible, Max.”

“Every time we get in there, she starts signing that old Beatles song…’Baby You Can Drive My Car’.”

“Don’t moan, Max. I always stop after I get to, ‘And Baby I Love You’,” Ceri reminded him.

“I swear I don’t know why you all make such a fuss of that itty bitty thing,” Ed chipped in.

“I’ll have to take you for a ride in her and you’ll understand, Ed.”

“I don’t think I’m mobile enough to fold into a sardine can yet, Honey,” Ed laughed, ducking the cushion Ceri found to throw at him. “Tell you what though, once I’m told that I can throw away my cane, I’ll let you take me for a drive.”

“Hah! I have witnesses, Eddie boy, so it’s a date.”

Ed rolled his eyes and groaned. “What have I let myself in for?”

Everyone burst out laughing and Ceri kissed Ed for being such a good sport.
