All Work and No Play…

Jeff threw himself into the wicker chair by the front door. He was rooted. Word was spreading round The Glen about him and his diary was full of appointments. He had more jobs lined up than he’d had for yonks down in Sydney. He knew he should be pleased, but he felt he needed some down time.

He’d just been into Coffs for some supplies, he’d be glad when the village had its own grocery store, and had yet to unload his bags, apart from the ice-cream that he dropped in the freezer as soon as he got back.

He pulled to Coffs local paper from his back pocket and settled in the shade for a quick read. Jeff being Jeff, he started at the back page. The sports news was way more interesting to him than anything else. As he turned the pages, he saw a large advert on the footy page. It looked like they were getting a new league team together and were holding trials the following day.

"Ripper," Jeff thought. "Just what I need to blow the cobwebs away."

With that, he went inside to find his footy gear and get it in the wash before putting his groceries away. He whistled to himself and he hung his gear on the line and smiled. A day of play would set him up for the work in front of him the following week.
