Up, Up and Away

Bron helped Ed settle into his seat and fastened the belt tightly around his middle. "This is the first time I’ve been in a plane this small," she smiled nervously.

"Don’t worry honey, they’re safe as houses. Used them a lot before my ‘retirement’," he grinned back at her.

Max and Ceri took their seats opposite them and buckled up. The executive jet was soon rolling slowly towards the runway, and they were soon airborne on the short trip down to Sydney.

"I’ve got a car waiting for us at the airport and we can go straight to the hotel to get unpacked. Then I thought we could go out for a meal at Circular Quay before turning in. It’s been a long day for all of us," Max remarked.

Just over an hour later they were making their final approach into Kingsford-Smith and were soon coming to a halt outside the exec-air hangar where a limo was waiting, its engine running smoothly.

The trip into town took about 30 minutes and they pulled up in front of the Park Hyatt at around 8:00pm. They just had time to get settled into their rooms before heading out for their dinner reservation.

They didn’t have far to go to eat, Max had booked a table at Peter Doyle at the Quay so they were able to sit out on the terrace and enjoy the warm breeze and the fantastic fare. They started with a Mediterranean salad, followed by the hot seafood platter.

It was getting on for 11:00 by the time they started to make their way back to the hotel. They walked slowly to accommodate Ed, who flatly refused a taxi for such a short distance, and they made it back by 11:30.

They said goodnight at their respective suite doors, and stepped inside.

"Did you have a good time, Ed?" Bron asked, helping him off with his jacket.

"The best, honey. I think I’m going to enjoy the next few days," Ed replied, pulling off his tie and unbuttoning his shirt.

"I’ll just go brush my teeth then I’ll help you into bed, lover." Bron said over her shoulder as she walked into the bathroom. By the time she came out, Ed was flat on his back with his trousers half way down his thighs.

"Poor baby," Bron said to herself as she eased the clothes off his legs and folded them neatly. "Looks like you ran out of steam." She gently lifted up his legs and swung him round onto the bed properly, then covered him up. Kissing him lightly on the lips she climbed into bed with him and cuddled him close, looking forward to whatever tomorrow would bring.
