Disapproval
Ben

After Liana had gone off to shop with Kate Harbor, Ben went about his usual day. After his morning coffee, he went down to the stables and spent a few hours there. He exercised his own horse, Major, and watched as the stable hands put the other horses through their paces. Satisfied that everything was going well, he returned to the house and went to his study.
It seemed like a typical morning for Ben, but all day the wheels in his head had been turning. Of all the women for Liana to strike up a friendship with! Sid Harbor's wife!
Ben didn't trust Sid. He'd only met him a couple of times, but the man was more slippery than a snake-oil salesman, he could tell. There were things Sid was hiding and, as a man who had things to hide himself, Ben could see it a mile away. Fake. That's what the guy was--a fake.
That brought Ben back to thinking about Liana and Kate. The whole thing made him uneasy. Even if the woman wasn't in on whatever her husband was concealing, he didn't like the idea of Liana being anywhere around her. He'd been worried all day.
Finally, he heard her car turn into the driveway. He looked out the window of the study to see Dan helping her remove her packages from her SUV. Giving a sigh, he settled back into his chair.
Then he straightened. He wasn't gonna worry like this about her all the time. First, he'd forbid her to go around Kate any more. Then, he'd see about some security for her. For her and the baby she was carrying.
Ben picked up his phone to make some calls.
