Letters to the Editor

Ben Wade

Friends and Neighbors:

I'd like to take a moment of your time to respond to comments printed in the Glen Tattler regarding myself and a business associate of mine, Mr. Frank Parker. These comments were made in the September 26, 2009 issue of the newspaper (and I use that term loosely) by Mr. Sid Harbor.

Mr. Harbor referred to both Mr. Parker and myself as "criminals". He used this slanderous word without offering any type of proof or evidence whatsoever to support his outrageous statement, nor would he be able to provide such evidence. Mr. Harbor referenced our community's "integrity and safety", but that statement was, apparently, made without factoring himself into the equation, since talk such as this without proof does not point to any type of "integrity" with which I'm familiar.

My wife Liana and I were two of the Glen's earliest residents. Most of you here know us and know how we feel about this community and it's residents. We have always supported and served the Glen. My wife is running for a town council post, again with the thought of serving our community. We are expecting our first child and are proud and happy at the thought of raising a family in such a respectable and friendly place.

I hereby invite Mr. Harbor to provide any proof he has of criminal activity on the part of myself or Mr. Parker, with the utmost confidence that no such proof exists. Mr. Parker is a long-standing associate of mine with a sterling record in the security business. I would not hire anyone who did not have such a record.

In closing, let me say this regarding Mr. Harbor. Shortly, we will be electing the first mayor and town council for our community. These elected officials will be representing the Glen to the outside world, as well as to our own citizens. Is this the type of man we want history to record as our town's first leader? A man who would, without proof or even provocation, slander one of it's own citizens? While I can't speak for any of you, I can tell you that it's not what I want for our community.

Sincerely,

Mr. Ben Wade
