Ben, Dan, & Frank

When White and Grant had left the house, Frank poured a whiskey for Ben, handing it to him where he sat on the leather sofa in the den. Taking the shot glass from him, Ben hurled it into the rock fireplace, where it shattered with a crash.

"Ben," Dan said softly. "We're gonna find her."

"Not sittin' here we damned well ain't gonna find her!" Ben had risen and was pacing the room again.

"We won't find her going off half-cocked either," Frank told him quietly. "Now that the place has been searched and you've checked with the preacher and the police have been called, we can get down to serious measures."

Sitting down across from Ben, Frank motioned Dan to take the chair next to him. Frank leaned forward with his hands folded and said to them, "Now, you two tell me absolutely anything--and I do mean anything--any little thing you can remember that might be helpful. Both of you know who Ben's enemies are. It's a long list, I know, but any idea you can give me about who I should be checkin' out that we can't let the police know about."

Ben came up with the four likeliest names and Frank called his men to put them on the job. As Ben sat staring into the cold fireplace, he said thoughtfully, "We'd already picked out a name, ya' know?"

"The baby," he said, at Dan's questioning look. "Liana an' me've got a name all picked out for 'im."

"Richard Daniel," he said quietly. "Richard Daniel Wade. Daniel for you." He looked over at Dan Evans, whose eyes softened at Ben's revelation of the name.

"Richard for Richie Roberts. Liana come up with that. Said Richie was the first friend we'd made here in the Glen an' she liked the idea of namin' the baby for him. An' since Benjamin was already taken-" He smiled at the thought of Steve and Millie's baby boy, which carried his name.

"We'll get them back, Ben." Dan's voice was almost a whisper. "We'll get 'em back and they'll both be fine."
