Lachlan had kissed her strongly enough to make her head spin.  She was so happy to see him this excited.  It really was true that if you loved someone so deeply, their joy could make you as happy as your own.

Ecstatic was perhaps a better word to describe Lachlan.  He was home in Australia.  He had his plane.  And Lachlan had her.  Heart and soul.  His passion for flying had become hers too.  She'd learned to fly and was becoming a good pilot.

Ashley had to get her pilot's license in Australia so they could both fly and work.  She only had one worry.  What if he didn't want to have her start working before?  Once he found out would he be even more protective of her?  She wanted to do this so badly.  Not only for Lachlan, but for herself.  She loved to fly.  Did Lachlan realize how much?

They drove up to their new house.  It was beautiful.  So pretty.  Light and airy.  And pale yellow.  The color her beloved kitchen had been.  She couldn't wait to explore it and move in.  Make the house their own.  Ashley had to tell him first.  She couldn't contain this news any longer.  She'd found out right before they left.  She'd decided to give him her surprise in Australia.  Lachlan had grabbed some suitcases from the car and started toward their house.  She called to him.

"Lachlan, wait a moment, Sweetheart.  I want to tell you something before we go in the house."

He turned around to look at her.  A sparkle in his eyes.  A smile on his face that had been there since they'd landed.  He noted her serious expression and set down the suitcases.

"Is there something wrong, love?"

"Oh, no, Lach.  There's nothing wrong."  She walked toward him as she trembled.  This was so important.  Ashley felt the need to be close to him.  She brushed her fingers across his cheek and leaned in to kiss it.  "Welcome home, Darling."  She leaned in to whisper in his ear.

"I love you, Lachlan Curry.  I'm pregnant.  We're going to have a baby."
