Patience
"Patience Braddock" he kept saying it over and over again. Today patience was a virtue he found hard to possess. How long had it been since Ivy had gone into the doctor's office? It seemed like forever. Another woman went in a short time ago, he hoped Ivy would be out soon. She had asked him to wait outside during her appointment. He wasn't sure if he was going to be able to comply with her wishes much longer. Shifting his position on the hood of the car he glanced towards the door of the doctor's office again. Seeing it open and his wife emerge he waited, holding his breath without meaning to.

"So?" was all he could get out when she reached the car. He could see she had
been crying and it stung that she had chosen to go it alone during her
appointment. Ivy dropped her purse on the car hood next to him and wrapped her
arms around him resting her head on his chest, breathing him in. Letting his
scent and his presence steady her. "Doc Knight did some blood work. We should
have the results in a few days. She says I seem healthy otherwise." Jim squeezed
her to him gently as he breathed a sigh of relief. "Let's go home, baby." Ivy
looked into her husband's eyes and smiled. "OK Jimmy. Let’s go home."
