Waiting is the Worst Part

. "That's Ivy, nobody can do it but her... She can be stubborn," hadn’t he over heard Toni saying something like that once. Jim had to admit Toni had a point, Ivy could rival just about anyone in the stubborn department.

For the last month he watched as Ivy tried to act as if she was OK; despite the obvious fact that she wasn’t. She’d always smile at him and say it was a "spell" and it would pass. It hadn’t passed, she had been getting progressively worse.

When Ian arrived, Jim was hesitant to talk to him about Ivy’s health. When Ian mentioned it to him he was thankful to have an ally. Ivy had given in to some of the things he and Ian asked her to do. She was spending less time at the grocery, she had hired help and most importantly she had made a doctor’s appointment.

Now that she had finally made the appointment with the doctor he was eager that she keep it. Picking her up at the grocery and taking her to her appointment seemed like a logical thing to do. Ivy was anything but logical lately. It had never occurred to Jim that Ivy wouldn’t want him to go with her to her doctor’s appointment.

She had let him drive her but she was adamant that she meet with the doctor alone. "What is she hiding?" Now he had every possible unpleasant scenario going through his mind. He didn’t like how things were playing out one bit; but he had no choice. He’d just have to wait until she was done inside and hope she chose to share just what is going on.
