“Bringing Home the News”

Kate left the doctor’s office all smiles. The doc had confirmed it, she was indeed pregnant – nearly 11 weeks, to be exact. As she walked to her car, she stopped, took in a deep breath of fresh air, and let out a happy sigh before slipping into the driver’s seat and starting the engine.

11 weeks... wow, must have happened that night she and Sid were together on the observation deck, when she’d first left Colin. Seems like an eternity ago, now, she thought to herself, as she sped down the road towards home.

Sid... yes, he’d be so happy to hear the news! She couldn’t wait to tell him, couldn’t wait to hear his reaction. She pulled into the secret underground garaged and parked the car. He’d be home by now from his walk, she was sure of it.

She slipped silently up the stairs to the main floor of the house, where she found Sid sitting on the couch, his eyes closed in deep thought, as he listened to the classical music he had playing on his sound-system.

“I’m home,” Kate said, smiling ear-to-ear, as she walked up to stand in front of him, “and, I’ve got some good news.”
