"A Place to Hang My Hat"
With the radio blaring and the wind in her face, Abby slowly made her way down the meandering road until she found herself in what appeared to serve as the town’s center. She parked her car and got out to stretch her legs and have a little poke around the place – get a feel for it.
Abby liked what she saw of The Glen so far. Loved the idea of being so far out in the country and away from big-city living. She’d been a city-gal her whole life, and was ready for a change. The unique and quaint homes she had seen here so far really suited her.
Taking a deep, cleansing breath, Abby stood in front of Steve and Millie’s boarding house and smiled to herself. "This will do for now," she said to herself, walking up to the door and stepping through.
Half an hour later, Abby sat in the little room that would serve as her new home until she decided whether or not she’d become a permanent resident in The Glen and buy a place of her own. She really liked the nice couple that owned the boarding house – Steve and Millie. They seemed like such good people and had the most adorable baby girl.
After unpacking her suitcases, Abby flopped down onto the bed and stared around the quaint little room. "Well, it’s not much," she sighed happily to herself, "but, it’s a place to hang my hat and that’s more than I could ask for."
