Jan & Tee Go Shopping

Jan Rollings led Tee along the street of trendy shops, the first stop being a salon where she was acquainted with the stylists.

"Hi Petey think you can do something with this young man?"

"Jan, how are you darling…oh a bit young for you isn’t he," Petey air kissed both cheeks.

"This is Travis’s nephew Petey his name is Tee."

After a shampoo, cut and blow dry Tee was presented to Jan, "Well what do you think Jan, have I caught it completely?"

"Very nice Petey, my but you are a handsome young man now that I can see your face," Jan smiled at Tee. His hair, still longish and layered now framed his face with a brush of bangs across his forehead.

Tee smiled a crooked smile, this was all new to him, and he’d never in his life had a proper haircut. Jan placed her hand on his shoulder and guided him out after purchasing products for his hair.

Two hours later Jan thought she had purchased everything he could possibly need and arranged for delivery of her shopping she and Tee stopped off at a sandwich shop.

"What would you like Tee?" she asked

"I don’t know?" he answered.

"Tee…have you ever eaten in a restaurant…fast food place…sandwich shop before?"

"McDonalds…I ate there one time, mostly it came in a bag though."

"What do you mean it came in a bag?"

"McDonalds bag you know, a hamburger and fries," he looked around the room, "somebody was always bringing a bag of food."

Jan bit her lip and moved around the table so she sat next to Tee and showed him how to read a menu and make a selection. She wondered if Travis knew exactly what was ahead of him…of course his mother would probably take Tee in hand and teach him the basics. Jan shook her hair back and smiled at Tee; she would not spoil the day thinking about Travis’s mother.
