Making Reality
Andy sat down at the table he kept in the dining room next to the kitchen door. This was his space and on the table he had spread out notes, papers and tablets with long lists and figures. He rotated his shoulders and moved his neck around trying to ease the ache that seemed to settle there by afternoon. He thought again about what Lucy had said about the money burning a hole in his pocket. He hoped that wasn’t it he just wanted his own restaurant. He’d been in contact with restaurants he’d worked at before just letting them know he was on the look out for some kitchen equipment if anybody was going out of business or anything he’d be interested.
He had it all figured out even down to the help he’d have to hire, the menus he’d want to use, cost vs price of each item. The call he’d received that morning had spurred him on. A waiter he used to work with gave him a tip about a restaurant in Coffs that was going under. He had a plan…now he had to sit down and convince Lucy and talk to Millie and Steve. He looked through the dining room from his table and thought again about the changes he’d make. It wasn’t a dream any longer but something he could make into a reality.
