A Rough Start
Ivy survived the flight from Newark International Airport to Australia, but she felt like it was a close call. Turbulence coupled with a fear of flying she didn’t even know she had made her ill. Completely exhausted Ivy managed to fall asleep just before landing which brought another wave of nausea. Jim suggested they wait for the other passengers to exit the plane before them. The whole trip he had comforted her the best he could by holding her close and being patient. The stewardess had offered to get them a wheel chair but Jim opted to carry Ivy into the terminal. Customs took a longer than it usually would since Ivy was sick. She was finally cleared after several hours all of which Jim sat with her.
They had not made arrangements for a car. While they could have rented one Jim was interested in keeping Ivy as comfortable as possible so they hired a taxi to transport them to the Glen. Ivy rested on Jim’s lap during the ride. He held her close to keep her from jostling too much during the remainder of the trip.

They arrived at the Glen after dark. Millie and Steve had their room prepared at the boarding house and Jim carried Ivy up to bed. Not exactly how he thought their Honeymoon would start off but for now he was thankful just to be able to be there beside Ivy.
