A Coffs Walkabout

Hando was spending more and more of his daylight hours at Tilly’s house. He’d stopped trying to cover his tracks there. She knew he was there and he knew she wasn’t going to do anything about it. She’d even begun to buy a few extras for him leaving things on the counter in the kitchen or in the fridge. He thought about her and what might become of a relationship but he wasn’t ready…not until he had laid the other thing to rest…and he was working on that.

He had a little money now and he’d calculated how long it would last. He needed to find a job and decided to use her address if he needed to. He liked Coffs Harbour…you could get lost there not like The Glen where everybody noticed if you walked down the street. He was walking down the street when he saw the sign in the window of the sail shop. The shades were down and he couldn’t see inside the shop was closed for lunch. He memorized the phone number…worth a try.
