MR. HARBOR RUNS FOR MAYOR
Sid sat, the latest edition of the little Glen Times in his
hands. Aubrey wanted to be mayor, did he? How not surprising. The man always did
have delusions of his own grandeur.
He smiled. It might be amusing if he had at least some nominal competition. Sid
knew, of course, he didn't stand a chance of getting elected, not with this
crowd of plebeians, but he could make a game of it. Games were always fun. Make
the man have to work for it a bit. Too bad Maximus had announced for Council. It
would have been fun to watch the two puffed-up military peacocks duke it out for
the same job. But, alas, they were friends and Maximus would never run against
the pompous seadog. Too bad. But, then, the General was not known for his sense
of humor.
Still smiling, he wrote out his own announcement.
The illustrious Mr. Sidney Harbor wishes to draw the
attention of the populace to the fact that he is tossing his hat into the ring
for the position of mayor of your quaint village. Save your applause and use
your hands for voting.
There, that should do it. His lips twitched with amusement as he wondered if
there were any chads hanging about he could manipulate.
