Andy’s at The Glen
An
dy’s new restaurant was now open for business. He had his kitchen staff hired and a new menu printed up…and his fingers crossed.New table cloths donned the tables along with fresh flowers and candles. He had hired a couple of local kids to do the dish washing and clean up and he himself would be cooking only three nights a week, the other four nights would be March a trained chef from Italy. Alice would do breakfast and lunch with the help of Nina who was a good cook but untrained.
Knowing his customers Andy kept some of the most popular items from the former menu but with March on staff he expected a few more favorites to emerge. Andy worked with March in Sydney and they had become friends outside of work. It was a stroke of luck that he was looking to move on.
Lucy worked with Alice in several restaurants and knew her to be fun and willing to try anything. She was also an excellent cook and fast on the grill. Lucy also knew Nina and although Andy had his reservations about her personality wise he was willing to give her a try.

Nell Walker (waitress)
The first night the new restaurant was open at Millie’s Boarding House, Andy helped wait tables because he wanted to see how things went and also he had only one waitress working, the other had not shown up. She wouldn’t be showing now he’d fired her before she ever went to work. Andy was hoping for the best but knew with that many employees there were sure to be some rough patches.
Desserts were supplied by Lucy’s Bakery of course as was the bread. She was as excited about the opening as Andy was and was on hand to help out if needed. She saw some familiar faces in the crowd and many from outside The Glen as well. She was so proud of him and what they both had accomplished since coming to The Glen. Lucy could see it in his face tonight…all his emotions but when he looked at her there was only love.
