It's Gotta Be Monday

After Miss Peeg and her niece left Richie stared at the wall, somehow he had allowed her to hire herself without so much as asking if she could type. It could of course all be undone if she didn't work out...couldn't it?

He picked up the phone, "Hey babe, guess what I hired an assistant...A Miss Peeg...no not married if she's a Miss...I have no idea honey...maybe fifty or more..." , Richie smiled doodling on a note pad," Probably knitting you know...I won't be home for lunch, gotta run to Coffs...right...love you too." Good that was taken care of.

Richie shuffled through his mail and checked his messages. Sheriff Biebe left a message stating he had the graffiti artist in jail, the car dealership called from Coff's Toni's car would be ready by noon. Which reminded him to call Colin about going over it before he let Toni know she had a vehicle, it was a demo and he wanted to make sure everything was as the salesman stated before he signed anything. This was to be her Christmas present.

Toni was doing laundry and talking with her father, "Want another cup of coffee before I clean up the kitchen?"

"Sure, has the paper come?"

"I haven't looked it should be on the front step," Toni watched him leave the kitchen and stepped over to the table to see what he had been circling in Sunday's paper. Flats...he was looking for a flat?

Michael came back in with the paper, "I suppose I should tell you Toni, I am thinking about relocating."

"Oh...where Dad?" she asked filling the sink with soapy water.

"Here, well perhaps in Coffs." he sat down and unfolded the paper looking for the real estate section.

"That would be great Dad," she smiled, "You know you can stay with us."

"I wouldn't dream of it, besides I think I would enjoy a place of my own in Coffs."

Toni smiled to herself, good for you Dad. She thought of her Mum in that rambling house in Alexandria VA. Would she be lonely? A loud noise from the laundry room brought Toni and Michael to the washer. It looked like a hose had burst and water was all over the floor.

"Oh no, what a mess...Dad?"

"Call a plumber Toni...is there one in The Glen?"

Toni called the boarding house, Richie told her there was a plumber staying there at one time, "Hi Steve, its Toni Roberts do you still have a plumber at the boarding house?"

Richie headed to sheriff's office to see the graphic artist in residence...
