PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES

Toward the wee hours he'd let Katherine sleep. Wearing a silver-colored satin robe, he stood by the window wall, staring at the night lights on the harbor, deciding where he'd take her first. Perhaps the cylinder he'd had built in that canyon niche? He hadn't been there for several months and it would be perfect for a day or two. It was mostly all bed, an enormous canopied bed. It was actually built just above a shallow stream and almost totally inaccessible to anyone who did not know the hidden back way in.

Yes, that would be good. They could be totally alone there. He turned, watching her sleeping in his bed, wondering for a moment what it would be like to need sleep, to mold oneself into another and drift into unconsciousness. No, the concept was too foreign for him. Still, he slipped off the robe and padded across the thick carpet, lying beside her, controlling with great effort his sudden urge to have her again.

Kate felt Sid's body next to hers, the warmth of it bringing back certain happy memories from the night before when he'd loved her so long and so completely. She smiled and let out a little sigh, then opened her eyes and turned to face him. "Good morning," she purred, happily, wrapping her arms around him.

"Would you mind if we got up now?" he asked. "You could sleep more on the plane? That way we could get a head start on our house tour?" He sat up, knowing if he didn't, he wouldn't be able to keep his hands off her.

"Sure," she replied, yawning and stretching at bit before sitting up in bed beside him. "I really can't wait to see your other houses, Sid. Alright if I have a quick shower first?"

He did like his women clean and right now she was rather...sticky. But the thought of her in a shower was too much for him and she'd no sooner got the water going than he slipped in behind her, running his hands up her thighs.

"Mmm...nice," Kate moaned, at the feel of Sid's hands on her bare skin. "I thought you were in a hurry to get going, though?" she giggled, then quickly added, "Not that I'm complaining."

"The plane will not leave without us," he murmured, sliding the soap up her back and curving it around the nape of her neck. He might not eat or sleep, but he could bathe with the best of them!

Later, settled again on his jet, they took off for a long flight. A flight attendant served Katherine breakfast while Sid selected the music he wished to listen to.

Kate's mind had been filled with all sorts of possible exotic and far away destinations all morning. Sid was always so mysterious, so...very private, but that's one of his many charms that she loved about him. It was like a game with him, the revealing himself to her, bit by bit, and Kate found it all extremely exciting and even a bit sensual or erotic somehow. Somehow even the slightest thing he did or said had such an effect on her, as if every pore of him seemed to ooze sexuality. At the same time, however, with all he had been revealing about himself, she found Sid to be quite the romantic, again, something that she was completely drawn to. As she sat and ate her breakfast, her curiosity got the best of her she turned to look at Sid.

"I've been wondering," Kate commented, as she swallowed down a bite of strawberry, "where is it we are going, Sid? Where's this house located?"

He turned to her, smiling, "India."

Kate dropped the strawberry she was holding, completely shocked. "India?" she giggled, nearly unable to contain her excitement. "Did you say we're going to....India? Oh my gosh! Sid! When you told me you had houses all over the world, I mean, I had no idea at the extent of it. Wow!"

"I have houses in all the countries where I have business ventures. Mostly I'm there," he looked off sadly to one side, "alone." He rested his palm on her thigh. "Building that place in the Glen is my experiment in community." He sighed. "But I fear it's not going all that well. Perhaps I'm just destined always to be alone."

Tears formed in the corner of Kate's eyes, and she reached out and gently touched Sid's arm. "Oh Sid, you must have been so very lonely for such a long time." She smiled sweetly up at him, completely moved by what he had shared with her. "But, I happen to think you're wrong...you're not meant to be alone. I'm here in your life now, and you'll never have to be lonely again."

"You're so good, Katherine, so very, very good to me." He slid his arm around her shoulders. "Come here," he murmured, "rest your head on me and sleep a while. I want you feeling wide awake when we land."

The jet touched down in Calcutta and as though by magic, there was a white limo waiting on the tarmac to drive them out to Sid's place. "I like houses made of glass," he said when it first came into sight. "I like their openness, the ability to see both in and out...but I like them in private places." The limo took them right to the passage that led to the hidden back entrance, then drove away. He made love to her six times that night and then they were on the jet again, this time heading for what he referred to as "his crystal complex" high in the Bavarian Alps.

They stayed there three days and he lost count of how many times...how many ways...he loved her. Onward they flew to his transparent residence in Israel

then down to his dome in Morocco. They stayed there a week. The next leg of their trip was longer and so he made love to her many times on the plane

before they arrived in Tierra del Fuego and took his yacht out to possibly the most unique of all his abodes.

"Oh Sid!" exclaimed Kate, as the yacht approached what appeared to be a glass house inside of a glacier of ice.

"This is truly....amazing!" As they pulled up alongside of the house, Sid took her hand and led her onto the dock, careful to hold onto her so she didn't slip and fall on the ice. "I never imagined such a place could exist!" she told him, still quite giddy.

This whole trip had been like something out of a fairy tale for Kate, truly quite an adventure of a lifetime. Every home of Sid's they visited was even more spectacular than the last and Kate was enjoying every minute of it. She was so incredibly happy spending this time with Sid and felt so close to him now that he was opening up to her and sharing his feelings. She'd never felt this way about anyone else before in her life and hoped it would never end.

As they entered the home, Kate looked around in amazement and wondered what other surprises Sid might have in store for her.

She was happy. He could see that clearly that he was making Katherine happy. And she, in her turn, gave him more continual pleasure than he'd known from one woman. Strange new thoughts that had never crossed his mind before kept popping up, refusing to go away. Perhaps? Could it possibly...be? A man like him, was he meant to be satisfied with merely one? He'd never tried such a thing before. Maybe a small experiment was in order? After all, if he didn't like the arrangement, it wasn't like he'd be stuck with it. It could be fun. Even if it only lasted for a time, it could be fun. And this woman's sexual endurance was amazing. That was the cincher. Not only had she survived everything, but had always, always been ready for more.

"Katherine," he whispered, looking down at her as she sat on his white couch, her face lifted expectantly. "When we return to Australia, would you consider doing me the honor of becoming my bride?"

To say Kate was surprised by his proposal was an understatement. It took her a few moments to let it sink in what Sid had just asked her, but when it finally did, she couldn't have been more ecstatic.

"You want to...marry me?" she asked, trying hard to contain her composure. Everything had happened so fast between them, but truly her feelings for Sid were like no other she had experienced, and she found the idea of spending the rest of her life with him absolutely thrilling. He wasn't just rich and handsome and the most incredible lover ever, but he seemed to really care about her, love her.

A wide smile spread across her face, and finally she burst out, "Oh Sid, I'd be honored to become your wife! Yes! Yes! I'll marry you!"
He was pleased. After all, there was no reason she should refuse him, was there? After he'd kissed long and thoroughly, he said,
"In Sydney, Katherine. I want to take you back to the Glen as my wife."
