Colin dropped Abby off at the boarding house after the wedding reception and sat watching her as she walked through the door and disappeared inside.

"Shit, but that didn’t go well," he said to himself, then lit up a cigarette and took a long drag off of it.

Abby had insisted he take her back here and drop her off after the reception instead of heading back to his place afterwards. She somehow got the idea in her head that he still had feelings for Kate.

"Fuckin’ ridiculous," Colin mumbled to himself, as he sat in his car, wondering how she could ever think something like that. He was definitely over Kate, wasn’t he? Hell yes! She was now with Sid... bloody fool of a girl that she is ran off and married that wanker!

Sure, he couldn’t help but notice how nice she looked, dressed all in lavender and diamonds, and he also couldn’t help but feel a twinge of anger towards Sid for stealing her away from him, then parading her around like that so he would notice them together... okay, maybe a wee bit more than a twinge of anger, but still, did that mean he was still hung up on her? Bloody hell no, mate!

Colin wasn’t going to let Sid ruin two relationships for him, no way, no how! He took one last drag off his ciggie, stumped it out in the ashtray, then put the car into drive and headed down the road. Tomorrow, he’d talk to Abby and set things right with her, but for now, it was home and yet another night alone again.
