"First Lady Kate"

Kate smiled and let out a happy little sigh, as she lay resting in the sun on one of the recliners up on the observation deck. Sid had gone out for one of his daily walks through the Glen, and she sat here alone, with only her thoughts to keep her company.

Her husband had just announced his candidacy for town Mayor in the upcoming elections, and Kate couldn’t be prouder of him. "He’s the obvious choice, naturally," she thought to herself, taking a sip of her champagne and watching the clouds roll by. "And soon, after Sid has won and takes office, I will be known as First Lady of The Glen." She giggled to herself, thinking of all the fancy parties they’d have, and all the important people they’d surely meet.

Most of her time was spent in the company of her husband, Sid. Other than his daily walks, she rarely had the opportunity to just be alone in the house. Not that she minded, of course. On the contrary, Kate relished the time she was able to spend with Sid. He was constantly showering her with gifts and affection. She adored him and couldn’t seem to get enough of him.

It didn’t even bother her that Sid didn’t like her to go off alone into town. She didn’t really have any friends there to speak of, so no reason for her to spend much time there, anyway. Life here with Sid was like something out of a fantasy, a fairytale come true, and she was his princess.

"First Lady Kate. Yeah, that has a nice ring to it, alright," she grinned, watching the ground below as she spied her "king" coming back home to her.
